Welcome to Knitpicking! Creating a space to share beautiful yarns, knitting and crochet patterns has been a life long dream for our Creative Director, Susie Gregory. Growing up in the bayside suburb of Beaumaris, Susie spent many years of her childhood in her mother’s craft and yarn stores, ‘The Earthworks’, ‘Sheepish’ and ‘Wild Yarns’. During this time, you could find a young Susie quietly knitting away whilst her mother delivered the latest textile, craft, yarn and fashion to the local community.
Her strong foundations in the textile industry along with a Bachelor of Arts in Textile Design made diving into the workforce as a knitwear designer and professional pattern writer a no-brainer. For the past 35 years Susie has worked with some of Australia’s most highly regarded yarn and knitwear companies to produce quality knitting patterns and designs. Her wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry, made creating her own brand the next logical step and thus, Knitpicking was born.
